Cockney and cake

For New Year's Eve I was invited to a murder mystery dinner. We were each assigned a part and I was given the role of Jane, the cockney maid. Cockney with its rhyming slang and multiple changes from RP (received pronunciation) is, I've heard, the hardest English accent to perfect (if it's not your native one!) and is also, I'm told, what Americans tend to mimic when we think we're just putting on a standard British accent.

I did a bit of research and practicing and whilst my boss wasn't my only victim New Year's Eve (yes, it was the maid. with a knife. in the railway car.) I think I managed a few lines of pretty genuine sounding cockney. And....  oi maade a lovely caake for de par'y. Oi was really appy wif ow i' turned ou'. Pis'achio cake wif brandy cream filling, fondan' and (pre-made) marzipan frui'. De recipay was mo'ified from: dessert first.
