saturday mornings in springtime

waking up without an alarm,
rolling over I see warm golden light
as it filters through gauzy white curtains,
splashing my face.

flat ellipitical peridots lace the
edges of a once bare stick
while rubies come to live amongst
them on the other side of the glass.

reading Pamuk's essays leisurely
seems contradictory to the shifting
unstablized uncertainity he describes,
but quite right with the softness of
sheets and the white space
on today's agenda.
